Thorpe Hall is the perfect base to explore the Yorkshire Coast and the North York Moors.

Fylingthorpe is a charming village situated in the National Park. The local shop, butchers and the Fylingdales Inn are all within a few minutes walk of Thorpe Hall and a regular bus service runs between Whitby and Scarborough.

A short walk from the hall takes you to the picturesque old fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay, known for its steep cobbled streets and winding alleyways. Robin Hood’s Bay now has a range of cafes, pubs and small shops to explore. https://www.robin-hoods-bay.co.uk/.

Whitby is a ten minute drive and is well worth a visit with its striking abbey, beach and bustling harbour. The coastal towns and villages of Scarborough, Filey, Runswick Bay and Staithes are all within easy reach. Discover Yorkshire Coast.

The Cinder Track can be accessed directly from the garden for a stroll down to the beach and Robin Hoods Bay or as the starting point for longer walks or rides. There is superb walking and cycling along the coast and across the moors of the North York Moors National Park area.
